Today is not a good day.
This past monday, I started school again. I'm a senior in high school and you'd think I'd be really excited about it. I'm not. I feel... empty inside. I miss the hell out of my best friend, who left for college yesterday. I've been ridiculously emotional ALL DAY and it's really starting to piss me off. I mean, I knew I was going to be sad, but I didn't think I was going to be randomly bursting into tears every time I see something slightly sad on tv or whatever. For example, I was watching a Nerimon video on YouTube earlier in which there was a dead bat on the porch outside someone's room and when Alex said something about it, I exploded into tears. Because of a DEAD BAT. I don't even like bats. They scare me. But it was kind of sad that one was dead, so I starting sobbing my eyes out stupidly and out of nowhere. Ugh.
Another, more justified, reason that I cried today was because a lovely, beautiful, wonderful Nerdfighter girl by the name of Esther Earl passed away last night after a long, hard battle with cancer. Esther was a Nerdfighter role model. When I first heard about her, I was amazed at how happy she seemed, despite the fact that she had every reason not to be. She did so much for our community, whether she meant to or not. She was a beacon of hope, a shining star. I will admit that I did not know Esther personally, but that does NOT mean that I have any less right to mourn her. And mourn her I will. She was a great girl and she will be greatly missed.
Esther, this one is for you. <3

Ten is my Doctor.
I've listened to soooo much Trock today. Whoa. (For those who don't know, Trock is Timelord Rock or music about Doctor Who.) I love Doctor Who so much. Right now, I'm in the middle of the 15th episode of season 4. I'm really sad about it too. Season 4 is almost over and that means I have to say goodbye to my beloved David Tennant. *sadface* I love the Eleventh Doctor, but the Tenth will always be MY Doctor. I don't even want to know how I'm going to react while watching Ten's last episode. I mean, I cried when Rose went away and again when she left for the second time (because I absolutely loved her, no matter what anyone else says). Oh no... I'm really worried that I'm going to get to that episode tonight... There are literally 2 1/2 episodes until I get there. I'm scared and a little sad.
Enough of that depressing stuff. I got my hair cut today. It's lovely. Tomorrow I'm going to get my schedule for my senior year of high school. (!) It's crazy. I'm sooo ready for this school year to begin, though. I miss my friends. Good news, though. I get to see two of my favorite people tomorrow! Jessi is coming to stay the night and on wednesday, we're driving to Nacogdoches to do a campus tour of Stephen F. Austin State University. And Lilo is coming to visit me since we haven't seen each other all summer because she went to California. I'm so jealous of her. I want to go to California. I love California. Oh well. Next summer, I'm going to Florida, so it's all good. I don't like Florida as much, but Universal Studios has Harry Potter, so I've got to go. I'm actually really excited about it. Aaaaand... I'm supposed to be going with my best friend, so it'll be even more fun! I <3 my best friend. I miss him. He leaves for college soon. He needs to come see me. Ah well.
I'm going to go watch more Doctor Who! I have mixed feelings about this. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ah. Home.
So! I just got back from my trip to Austin for the weekend. I absolutely adore the hill country. It's so beautiful. I plan on living on one of those hills someday. :) I had so much fun spending time with my family. I love them so much.
Here's what we did:
Day 1 (Friday):
We drove. FOR FIVE HOURS. I don't like being in a car that long. But, once we got to Austin, we went to our hotel, unloaded the cars and went to my aunt and uncle's house. We visited for a while, then back into the cars (ugh) and went to this amazing resturaunt called The Pier. It is exactly what it says it is: a pier. We ate dinner ON Lake Travis, literally. And get this, IT WAS IN THE HILLS!!!! It was awesome. I'd been there once before, when it was called Shades, but that was many years ago and it has since been remodeled. It was really cool. Then, we went back to my aunt and uncle's house, visited for a while longer and then went back to the hotel and went to sleep. Sort of. Nobody got much sleep that night.
Day 2 (Saturday):
Saturday is a bit of a blur for me. It was the longest Saturday EVARRR! But it was a good Saturday. We went shopping at an outlet mall (I got shoes!!!) We went to eat at a really cool resturaunt called Buca de Bepo's. It was yummy Italian food, even though I don't like Italian food. We went on a nifty boat ride on Ladybird Lake (previously known as Town Lake). I didn't like the tour guide much. He enjoyed talking about drinking too much. And that night was totally scary! We got to my aunt and uncle's house after our day's adventures and there was a suspicious-looking car parked across the street, in front of the woods by the house. My uncle decided to go check it out, blah blah blah. He thought it might have been some kids doing drugs in the woods, because he's caught kids doing that before. He scared them away, basically. They hopped into their car and left. More blah blah blah. Later, everyone is inside playing a game and we see headlights pass the window. Jason (my uncle) goes to check it out. MORE cars had come and parked outside the house. All the adults went outside and I stayed inside and watched my cousins and tried to comfort them, because they were a little nervous. To be honest, I was too. I was scouring the room with my eyes, trying to find something I could use as a weapon in case someone tried to break into the house and hurt the girls. My aunt called the cops. Apparently, the kids knew it was time to scram, so they packed up one of their cars and sped off. The other car was still there, so when the cops arrived, she went out and searched the woods. She didn't find anything, so she left. Everyone came back inside and kind of freaked out about what had happened. It was really scary. Then we went back to the hotel and tried sleeping again.
Day 3 (Sunday)
Aaaand that brings us to today. We got up, checked out of our hotel, went over to Jeanne Jeanne and Jason's house, ate doughnuts, and decided what to do with our last day. I had told my aunt that I wanted to drive through the hills during the day so I could take pictures. So that's what we did. Then the girls (my mom, my aunt Ann, Jeanne Jeanne, my cousins Allison and Natalie and myself) went to this lovely places called Shaffer's Bend. It was this beautiful river waaaay back in the hills. I took so many pictures. I wish I'd worn more appropriate clothes, though. It was so hot and I really wanted to swim, but I was wearing jeans. :( I fail at preparing for stuff. Then, we went back to Jeanne Jeanne and Jason's and talked and hung out for a while. Then we left. It was so sad. I enjoyed the trip so much and I didn't want to leave. We drove FIVE MORE HOURS and finally, I was home. Yay home! :)
Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment. Yuck. I hate dentist appointments. Whatev. I think I'm gonna go watch Doctor Who and settle down for the night.
Sweet dreams!
